Privacy Policy

Effective September 24, 2026. Scott Kirkpatrick dba Hey Companion operates Companion, a voice assistant and family coordination pilot.

Information we use

We process family account email addresses, contact names and numbers, calendar entries, preferences and information users choose to share. During active voice sessions, audio is sent to our AI provider to respond to requests. Standby wake listening stays on the device.

For texting, we process message content, sender and recipient numbers, delivery status, and opt-in and opt-out records. Family contacts and message records are not public.

Purpose and service providers

We use this information to operate the requested voice, calendar, calling and messaging features, manage access, prevent duplicate actions and investigate failures. Our service providers include OpenAI for AI and site hosting, Supabase for account and household data, Render for the communications service, and Twilio and carriers for calls and messaging. They receive information needed to provide their services.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Control and retention

Reply STOP to stop SMS messages. Contact helloscottk@gmail.com to request access, correction or deletion of your information. We retain operational data until it is removed through supported controls or a deletion request is processed. We may retain opt-out records to honor your choice and records necessary to resolve disputes or meet obligations. This pilot does not currently apply an automatic message-deletion schedule.
